What cats and Android have in common

It just dawned on me that cats and the Android platform commercially have one thing in common. They’re both treated as second class citizens.

In pet stores, I notice the 80 to 20 split between what’s offered for cats and dogs. The 20 per cent is almost always for felines. The same thing goes for newly developed social apps. I come across this awesome-sounding app, Croissant. It would allow you to cross-post for Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon. But guess what: only available for Apple (for now).

I love dogs as much as I do cats. I just happen to be a cat person. And I like Apple as much as I love Android. And well, that kinda speaks for itself.

There’s no marketing takeaway here.

I’m just making an observation.
